The lakes are a focus of the park system. There are paved walking paths and biking paths around all the lakes. Lake of the Isles and Lake Calhoun are the two closest lakes to uptown. Lake Harriet, Cedar Lake, and Brownie Lake are farther away. All the lakes except Harriet are connected by waterways. Lake Calhoun has boat rental during the spring, summer, and beginning of the fall. Lake Harriet has a replica steam passenger ship running during parts of the summer. People can ride it for a fair price. Lake Harriet also has a trolley that runs around part of Lake Calhoun and Lake Harriet.

As of now, Lake Harriet has its construction complete. There will be more plants planted in spring though along with the final touches on the area.

Lake Calhoun is now under construction. They ask for people to not use the park during the time of construction.

Look for pictures comming in spring.
